Hello and welcome to Class 4’s page. Our teachers are Mrs Deaville and Mr Turner, our teaching assistants are Mrs Colton and Mrs Leonard. Mrs Colton also teaches us on a Thursday afternoon, supported by Mrs Leonard.
Our aims: Year 4’s focus is on the development of the whole child – your child will be learning about themselves and building knowledge and skills that they can connect and apply. We then hope that they learn the importance of giving some of this back for the benefit of others.
Our topics are broad-ranging and allow your child’s interests to be developed. We aim to use cross-curricular learning where possible and use a creative and investigatory approach. Please see our long-term planning or Topic Web to find out more.

Useful information:
· Spellings, Times tables and any other homework are sent out every Tuesday and are due in the following Monday.
· Reading and times table practice are fundamental to your child’s learning in school and we ask that you support this at home too.
· PE is on Tuesday and Wednesday. Children need to be wearing their PE kits, with long hair tied back and no jewellery to be worn. Track-suit bottoms and a sweat-shirt will be needed in cooler weather.
· Clarinets are to be brought in on Wednesday, for music teaching on Thursday. Please practice little and often at home – take advantage of this rare opportunity to learn an instrument for free!
